Long distance quantum communication
LMU Munich, 80799 Munich, Germany – Max-Planck-Institute for Quantum Optics, 85748 Garching, Germany
Quantum communication supports and extends conventional communication methods. It provides means to securely establish secret keys for secure communication and ultimately allows to connect quantum computers efficiently even over long distances. Remarkable progress was achieved over recent years, yet, it is still a long way to establish quantum networks for future quantum communication on a global scale.
